Introduction

Zapier is an online automation tool that connects your favorite apps, such as Gmail, Slack, Mailchimp, and more. You can connect two or more apps to automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the integration.

For example, maybe you get a lot of email attachments in your Gmail account and you want to save them to Dropbox. Every time you get an attachment, you could open up the email, click the attachment, and then save it to Dropbox. Or you can have Zapier automate this for you, saving you time and effort.

Smartech + Zapier = Ease of Automation

Smartech can now be connected to the suite of Zapier listed applications to manage your contact management operations in smartech.

Using Zapier you can trigger the following actions in smartech:

  • Create a Contact: A contact will be added to the smartech database
  • Add Contact to a List: This allows a user to add a contact to an existing list, this also allows to create a new contact and add it to an existing list
  • Remove User from List:This allows a user to remove an existing contact from a list
  • Create a List:This creates an empty list on smartech
  • Delete a List: This allows the user to delete an existing user from Smartech.

Smartech on Zapier is currently invitation based so to use smartech on zapier please contact your smartech support.

Implementation Steps

  • Click on the shared zapier link.
  • On click, the user will be redirected to the Zapier page which says you have been invited to use this Zap.
  • Post which the user can create zaps using Smartech.
  • While setting up the zap of your choice, you will need to connect your smartech account to your zapier account. In our case this is achieved using the panel API key.
  • This Panel API key can be found in smartech, in your profile option:

Things to Remember

  • Make sure that the APIs are activated for the smartech panel you are using.
  • All the fields for input in Zapier are optional, but make sure to pass the Primary Key of your panel with the other data, else the data will not be added to the Smartech system. Also currently dates sent by Zapier are not compatible with Smartech.
  • Currently smartech events can only be triggered by events from other apps, Smartech events cannot be used to trigger a zap.
